Personal Affair Resident Permit


For those who enter the country with a S1 visa, the person visiting relatives should submit a letter and residence certificate issued by the person being visited explaining the relationship between the relatives (spouse, parents, spouse's parents or children under 18 years of age). It is possible to issue a residence permit consistent with the period of stay of the person being visited in China.

 

Other personnel should submit supporting materials related to the handling of private affairs. It is possible to issue a residence permit with a residence period of not more than one year.

 

For those entering the country with other types of visas, the visitor should submit the invitation letter, residence certificate and proof of relationship between relatives (spouse, parents, spouse’s parents or children under the age of 18) issued by the person being visited, and can issue the period of stay in China consisted with the resident permit validity of the person being visited.

 

Foreign Chinese who have reached the age of 60 to purchase real estate in China should submit a real estate certificate in their own name or a notarized housing sales contract and proof of economic source, and can issue a residence permit with a residence period of not more than 3 years.

 

Foreigners receiving medical assistance and services in China shall submit a hospitalization certificate or medical service certificate issued by a local medical institution at or above the county level or second-level A or above for a caring period of more than 6 months, and can issue a residence period of not more than 1 year.

  

Remarks:

  • (1) Family member relationship certificate and kinship certificate refer to marriage certificate, birth certificate, adoption certificate, other kinship certificate and relevant notarization issued by relevant Chinese competent department shall be attested by Chinese embassy overseas.


  • (2) The relevant foreign language certification materials shall be translated into Chinese by China domestic notary office;


  • (3) Foreigners who apply for visa, short stay visa, residence permit visa must pay fees in accordance with the relevant regulations of the competent departments of the Chinese government;

     

  • (4) The validity period and entry times of visa issued shall be subject to China immigration office locally;


  • (5) The decision made by the China immigration office shall be the final decision. China immigration office has the right to revoke visa issued;

  • (6) The public security organs will punish foreigners or responsible persons who overstay in China;


  • (7) Special application cases shall be subject to the interpretation of the China entry and exit administration department.
