Chinese visas are divided into diplomatic visas, courtesy visas, official visas and ordinary visas. The most commonly used visa type is ordinary visa, which is divided into the following categories:

Chinese visa extension
If you prefer to stay in China longer than your original visa validity without exiting China, you shall apply for the visa extension prior to the visa validity at least 2-3 working days in advance and 5 working days is preferable. Normally it is allowed maximum for 2-3 times extension.

We will take business visa extension as a sample below to explain:
Documents and requirements:
1. Passport original.
2. Business license of the sponsor company.
3. An application letter issued from the sponsor company.
4. Applicant’s valid accommodation police registration issued from the closest police station where he is living or hotel registration certificate.
5. Applicant’s photo with barcode receipt paper.
6. Advance appointment online should be made in the immigration system.
China immigration working hour:
Monday - Friday 8:30 - 12:00 & 14:00 -17:30
Important Notice:
1. An appointment shall be booked online before personally going to the immigration.
2. Companies that issue guarantee letters for the applicant must be approved by the China immigration office locally.
3. The applicant must renew the visas 5 working days ahead of the expiry date.
4. According to the nationality law of the People’s Republic of China, China does not recognize dual nationality. The applicants who have joined foreign nationality must cancel their Chinese household registration before they can apply for visa, or the applicant shall use the nationality to apply a visa extension as same as his nationality while entering China.
5. The applicants who apply for visa extension must pay fees in accordance with the relevant regulations of the competent departments of the Chinese government.
6. The validity and entry times of visa extension shall be subject to the local China immigration office.
7. The decision made by the China immigration office shall be the final decision. China immigration office has the right to revoke visa issued.
8. The public security organs will punish foreigners or responsible persons who overstay in China.
9. Special application cases shall be subjected to the interpretation of the China immigration entry and exit administration department.
