Reunion Resident Permit


Those who enter the country with a Q1 visa should submit the identity certificate of the person being visited and a letter explaining the relationship between family members. Foreigners who enter the country with other types of visas should also submit proof of family member relations.

 

For those under the age of 18 and over 60, a residence permit with a residence period of not more than 3 years can be issued. The deadline for the residence period for persons under the age of 18 cannot exceed the date of 18 years of age; for other persons, the residence period can be issued residence permit for no more than 2 years.

 

For foreign Chinese or overseas Chinese who are fostering foreign children under the age of 18 in China, the trustee of foster care can issue a residence permit valid for no more than 3 years. The resident permit validity must not exceed the date when the children are 18 years old.

 

Documents required:

  • (1) The applicant’s birth certificate;

  • (2) The passport copies of the foreign parents;

  • (3) If both or one of the parents are Chinese, a copy of the certificate of residence abroad should also be submitted;

  • (4) The applicant’s parents’ letter of attorney

  • (5) Foster trustee’s letter of entrustment, the letter should indicate the entrusted support or guardian, the number of years of foster care, etc.;

  • (6) The local permanent residence certificate of the trustee or the residence certificate of the actual place of residence for more than 6 months and the resident ID card.
